Pink and Blue

Here's a commissioned peice I like for a several reasons. First, the colors are good: Though soft and pastel, they strongly contrast each other. It can be hard to get both of those effects in the same piece. Second, the fur is detailed without drawing too much attention to itself; this, too, is often hard to acheive. Finally, the character is part way between a furry character and a human--especially in her face. I've always liked this look (furries with lips I guess I would call it) and I think I did a pretty good job with it on this piece.

Looking at your other furry pictures, both animal faced and human, I can easily guess why you would prefer a more human looking face. At least I can say why I prefer human faces. It allows for a superior range of emoting. Smile, frown, etc it's all there. That's much harder to do with a muzzle. Not impossible, but difficult.
In regards to this specific work, I agree with most of your assessments. The soft, pastel colors DO contrast, which I would have normally not thought possible. This is why I leave things like colors to the artist.
Contrast creates interest, and helps draw the viewer's eye. I particularly like the dancing veil. Adds another layer to the proceedings.
I have stated previously that I'm not a big furry fan. So take my following critism with a grain of salt. First of all, it's rare for any character (much less a female), to have sideburns that start with the eyebrows and end around the chest. Also...a tiger's tail. Hooves like a charger. Big ears of something... WHAT ARE WE?
I'm guessing a chimera of some sort. That, or some really built satyr got it on with some cat girl. Actually, that last one would make the most sense.
