In addition to my commission work, I have pieces that I work on for my own satisfaction. Sometimes I'm doing pieces for prints and collections, sometimes I'm learning new techniques, sometimes I just feel like doing something different. This week's post has a bit of all three motivations. Here is the first of a series that I am calling Redd Ribbons. It's important to do your own thing for fun. If it helps you practice, and develop some skills along the way, all the better. Red ribbons are a nice theme to pick.
I couldn't agree more, aj. Work like this keeps me fresh and hones my skills. I'm at my busiest time of year (summer convention season) so there is not a lot of time to do this type of thing. Look for more of it in the fall.
